The Apps Of 2016

This may not have been a year of great technological leaps. Moto made the Z with mods and Xiaomi made the MiMix with a bezel-less display. Otherwise, it was business as usual on the hardware front. That's not to say it was a bad year for smartphones. Google shook things up with the Pixel, possibly the best phone of the year, the Moto Z was far more impressive than expected and OnePlus finally knocked it out of the park with the OnePlus 3(T).

I got a Nexus 5 in march. It isn't perfect. The SIM reader doesn't work, it has clearly been taken apart before. But hey, it was only £40 on eBay. A New Beginning

If you've followed me on social media for an extended amount of time, you'll know that I love technology. I love trying new things, being on the bleeding edge and expressing my opinions about those things. First I did so through Google Plus itself. Then I experimented with Blogger and Wordpress etc. Eventually I was fortunate enough to come into contact with Charlie Callow. I joined him in writing for Little Green Dude. That was almost three years ago!

I want to make this abundantly clear: I am not leaving Little Green Dude. I have loved every moment that I've spent writing there and I'll continue to do so. So what is this blog for? Well it's about everything really. Instead of the one format, this will be more diverse. Instead of only writing about tech, I'll write about film, music and anything else I feel like writing. This is something that will be more personal.

This beginning starts today with a new material refresh (currently desktop only). It will continue as I expand the blog categories and diversify. I'd like to give a time frame for new posts but sadly that isn't possible. I have work and other responsibilities to attend to. But at the very least I'll try to update this once a week.

I hope you enjoy this blog and the content I'll produce. If you have any advice or tips please feel free to express them! I hope that this is the beginning of something long-lasting!

If you’re an Android enthusiast then you’ll probably know what I mean when I say “A/B testing.” It’s the method a lot of companies like Facebook and Google use to test new features. In theory it’s a great idea. By rolling out a feature to only a few users they can judge whether people like it and solve any issues. Sounds good right? Sadly some companies are, in my opinion, taking it too far. If you do too much A/B testing all at once the user experience starts to suffer.
